At DENGYO, we take a minimalistic and clean approach to designing wireless solutions. That’s why we developed the Visible Light Transmittance Antenna (VLTA), also known as the transparent antenna.

Developed by DENGYO using specially-engineered materials produced through 3M science and innovation, the transparent antenna is similar in look and feel to very thin plexiglass and designed to offer venues a high-performing in-building wireless network solution while maintaining a very minimal visible presence. The transparent material allows light to pass through it making it practically invisible, while still maintaining robust connectivity within your venue.

The revolutionary antenna is mounted perpendicularly under the ceiling, on a wall or in other locations, blending in perfectly with its surrounding environment. Because of its transparency and slim profile, a transparent antenna can be installed in locations that simply aren’t feasible with more traditional antenna options.

Consider this… if you were tasked with installing as in-building wireless network solution inside the Sistine Chapel, would you want a bulky traditional antenna hanging next to the Creation of Adam? Probably not. However, if you installed a VLTA, visitors could still marvel at Michelangelo’s masterpiece without any visual distraction and still access their favorite sports app to get the latest scores.

Currently, DENGYO offers two models of transparent antenna and recommends their use for indoor coverage in museums, restaurants, showroom galleries, ballrooms, hotels and hospitals. Each model is small, lightweight and easy to install.

DENGYO launches Fusion

DENGYO, a leading provider of wireless base station antenna solutions, today announced the availability of its new Fusion product line. For mobile network operators refarming their wireless spectrum and enterprises deploying private 5G networks, Fusion is a space-saving solution that combines a mid-band massive MIMO radio+antenna unit with a traditional low/mid-band base station antenna.

Massive MIMO technology promises to improve the data throughput and capacity of the 5G Radio Access Network (RAN). Up to 64 individual transmitter, receivers, and antennas in the unit implement spatial diversity and multiplexing techniques to deliver individual RF links to individual mobile subscribers. This highly precise targeting improves the performance of individual links and of the cell site overall. In addition, subscribers at the edge of a cell will benefit from better reception.

This group was established to develop active wireless access infrastructure products, including 5G mid-band radio units, to complement Dengyo’s widely deployed antenna solutions.

New and upcoming applications for 5G networks such as Fixed Wireless Access for home internet, Connected Cars, Smart Grid, and Industry 4.0 (industrial automation) demand low latency, high reliability, and high performance. The Challenge:

Finding an Antenna Vendor to Replace Specialty Antennas

A major US Carrier with regional offices in Florida found itself in a dilemma. They needed to upgrade 100-150 existing antennas to better support current generation multiband 4G/5G antennas.

The challenge was their mounting location – at the top of existing flag poles. This not only limited the space they could utilize for mounting – just 10 feet for two stacks – but also the type of antenna that could be used as it needed to fit within the existing pole mount designs.

The carrier approached their incumbent vendors but none had an existing solution that would work, nor were they willing to create custom solutions on such a relatively small scale.

The Solution:

A Custom Solution that Met All Specifications

After hearing about the carrier’s dilemma, DENGYO approached them to offer our services. DENGYO specializes in designing custom antennas and was uniquely qualified to provide an effective solution.

Over the course of six months, DENGYO worked closely with the customer to determine the proper specifications and requirements.

Before presenting the customer with the final design, DENGYO spent the necessary time to customize and revise the physical and electrical performance of the antenna to meet the carrier’s needs.

In the end, DENGYO offered a custom antenna solution which met all necessary multiband frequency requirements and, more importantly, fit within the existing pole mount designs.

The Results:

A Solution with Unexpected Benefits

The customer was extremely satisfied with the custom solution from DENGYO. Not only did it meet all carrier expectations to increase their capacity and utilize their entire spectrum to provide better service in congested service, but it also saved them a lot of money in the long run.

Based on the spectrum requirements, the carrier would have been forced to pay a significant amount to retrofit a bigger flagpole if DENGYO wasn’t able to provide a viable solution. In addition, they would have faced expensive lease increases if they installed larger equipment with a larger overall footprint.

Even though we changed specifications several times during design, they stayed the course to deliver the solution on time.
